The 28th Annual Telly Awards honored Mississippi Son in three categories: achievement in Documentary Filmmaking, Editing, and
Use of Music.


Mississippi Son was listed as a "Top Rated Film" on the Little Rock Film Festival website in the "The Festival Buzz" section. The film also received five out of five stars from festival audience members.

Mississippi Son received a Remi Award at WorldFest. Named after the western artist Remington, the Remi recognizes artistic achievement.
